Evening Session at IIUM Matriculation Centre @Gambang, Pahang
After cruising the highway from Kuala Terengganu to Gambang for about 2 hours, I arrived at IIUM Centre of Foundation Studies. I was excited to meet with the students.
Before going up to the stage, I had the opportunity to get a helicopter view about the current state of affairs of CFS in Gambang from the senior managenent. Surely, some improvements need to be done to improve sustainabillity and a better environment to live and study.
In my welcoming remarks cum motivational talk, I urged the students to really understand why they need to spend one year for their foundation programmes. There are things that they need to do and to avoid to allign their stay with the grand design of IIUM.
I have also launched my personal initiative to encourage our young students to like reading novel and motivational books to boost their emotional intelligence and personality development not to mention the language proficiency (in both English and Arabic). The full programme will be annou ced later by the management of CFS.
I have impressed to have student leaders on the stage to have an open session with me. Hope they have had a good experience and exposure.
Towards the end of my visit, I stopped at the Mosque to join a group of students to break their Monday fasting programme. An excellent programme indeed. I had an early dinner with all of them.
Yesterday, we also launched the pre-Merdeka celebration. May I wish all the community of CFS a happy and meaningful Merdeka Day and Maal Hijrah.
The visit to Gambang was insightful. Both the staff and students are magnificent. I plan to come back for a special session "I Have 25 Hours A Day", insyaAllah.
Thank you Prof. Dr Kamaruzaman Yunus and Mr Murshid Kasim for making this visit a reality. My sincere thanks go to all my beloved sons and daugthers who took their time off to be in Al Khawarizmi Hall to be spending thier evening time with me. By the way, we need to speak about algorithm more and more as the word of algorithm originated from al-Khawarizmi.
Thank you all and look forward to meeting with you again in the near future.
